Another day, another announcement that more Michiana residents are losing their jobs.
Utilimaster Corporation in Wakarusa laid off 40-people Friday.
Vice-president of human resources, Hugh Ogren says the layoffs are "absolutely" related to the economy.
He says the layoffs started this week.
Utilimaster makes delivery trucks for companies like UPS and FedEx.
Ogren hopes the layoffs are temporary, but says only time and the economy will tell.
