Thursday community members came together to remember a long-time Michiana law enforcement officer killed in a hit and run on last month.
Roseland town marshal Craig Toner died November 1st, when a drunk driver struck him on his motorcycle.
Since then, the ecumenical prayer group has met every Thursday at St. Peter's United Church of Christ in South Bend for a prayer vigil for Toner.
Thursday was their final meeting.
Amid prayers, singing, and hugging, Toner's parents and many who knew him said goodbye to a man who they say died much too soon.
"Although it was not a line of duty death for officer toner it still impacts us because those are the ones that stand on the thin blue line and protect everybody and serve everybody in the community," said Pastor Bill Wassner.
Fifteen people were present at the vigil.
The church is located on the corner of Ironwood and Corby, near the spot where Toner died.
