On Saturday, the Notre Dame football team faced an embarrassing loss to Syracuse. But during the game, the team faced a flurry of snowballs.

Before and after the big Irish loss, students took their frustrations out on the snow.

Several fans had to be taken out of the stadium by police after throwing snowballs.

Fans were throwing snow the entire game, taking advantage of both snow and ice chunks left over from this week's big winter storm.

They were told twice over the loud speakers to stop.

They hit other fans, police on the field, and even their own football team -- something football coach Charlie Weis talked about Sunday in his press conference.

"I was taken aback about it, to tell you the truth," he admitted. "I was caught a little off guard because they started coming early. And I think that maybe it was meant in fun at the start of the game, but it's a dangerous thing, and it's just something I wish would have been avoided."

Notre Dame Security Police were unable to tell us how many people were escorted out of the stadium for the unruly behavior.
