Warren Primary held its annual Thanksgiving celebration Friday.

It's a chance for kids and parents to celebrate the holidays with some fun and dancing.

Students also got the chance to learn about U.S. history as they practiced their routines, which took place today in both English and Spanish.

The South Bend students spent weeks working on their parts.

"They did auditions, and then we gave them their parts and then we each week added something new, like how to walk, the songs to sing, the making of the costumes, and then the pumpkin bars,” said 2nd grade teacher Kathleen Miller. “So it’s a gradual procession, until you get to the final."

This was the sixth annual Thanksgiving celebration. Students from first, second and third grades participated.

Mrs. Miller's Thanksgiving Extravaganza is the best holiday show in South Bend! She has been arranging it since she was at Jefferson. Her "team" includes everyone in the school, her "actors" include all of the grade level students without discrimination. She is a wonderful teacher (South Bend's Teacher of the Year last year) and I am proud to be her friend.
