For the past two weeks, students at LaSalle Intermediate have been collecting cans for Saint Vincent de Paul.
On Tuesday, they boxed them up and shipped them off.
Students donated more than 3,200 cans to the organization.
The drive was put together by the student council. Members say it's their duty to help out others!!
"What student council stands for, in our school at least, I know, is that we always like to help out the poor,” said Sarah Biggs, Student Council President. “We like to help our city. That's kind of what we do."
Other students say they feel a great sense of accomplishment, being able to help out those who are less fortunate.
