All across the country, waste management facilities celebrated America Recycles Day.

The St. Joe County Household Hazardous Waste Facility in Mishawaka was busy Saturday recycling everything from oil to anti-freeze, pesticides and herbicides, and even paints.

It's important to remember to recycle these kinds of materials -- especially since many of them can be hazardous to children.

"It gets them away from a child at the home, and they can bring them here and dispose of them. We put them into their proper containers and ship them out to where they got to go," explained Rick Pletcher.

The hazardous waste facility will also recycle electronics for you, such as old computers and televisions.

Other recycling facilities in Michiana will take care of products like paper and aluminum cans.
