Runners were up early Sunday at St. Mary's College ready to "trot for tots."
Runners braved the cold for a 5K to benefit Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.
The first annual "Trot for Tots" took participants on a winding tour of the wooded trails on campus.
"She walks a lot and I run a lot and we thought it was a good cause and it gets us off the couch and outdoors to enjoy the weather," said participant Bruce Watson.
Caitlin Murphy of St. Mary's College says it is a very important event for the college, "It's the first time we've been able to market St. Mary's Dance Marathon to the community and get community participation."
The 5K raised money and awareness for the hospital, and got the word out about the dance marathon at St. Mary's, coming up in April.
