The Berrien County Sheriff Department’s seized a meth lab late Friday night in Niles in the 300 block of North 17th Street.
Just after 11 pm, police received information that a man with an outstanding arrest warrant was at an apartment at 301 N. 17th Street. 33-year-old Michael Goralczyk of Niles was wanted for malicious destruction of property under $200.
When officers arrived at the apartment, they could smell a strong odor of chemicals and observed a large amount of smoke inside the residence.
Officers found a methamphetamine laboratory with components and ingredients for manufacturing meth.
Police found Goralczyk inside the apartment, along with 29-year-old Jason Kalebic and 29-year-old Steven Lambert. All three were arrested.
Niles Township Fire Department was called to the scene after the sheriff’s department determined the men had just completed a “meth cook” and that the lab was still unstable
All three men were arrested and are currently at the Berrien County Jail pending their arraignments in the Berrien County Trial Courts.
