A 38-year-old Michigan City man has admitted to stealing more than one thousand catalytic converters to help feed a heroin addiction.
That's according to our Read It/Watch It partners at the Michigan City News Dispatch.
Thomas Breese, Jr. is being charged in Lake County with 20 counts of theft, and is being investigated for similar thefts in La Porte County.
Breese told investigators he would steal a converter a day to supply his $200-a-day heroin addiction.
The La Porte County Sheriff's Department hasn't decided whether to press charges for thefts in their county.
