With the holiday's right around the corner, some military moms want to make sure their sons and daughters serving overseas are not forgotten.
Saturday, two chapters of "Blue Star Moms" teamed up to pack care packages for our local soldiers and marines.
Each box they pack reaches about fifteen troops.
Deb Meyer is president of the St. Joe Valley chapter.
For her, the cause is personal; she has two sons serving, while another was killed in Iraq.
"Four years ago when I joined this was my mission, was to get involved and get active so my kids and all the other kids that are over there would be able to have a part of Christmas with them," explained Deb.
Any mom who has or had a son or daughter in the military can join Blue Star Moms.
The local Indiana chapter meets the second Monday of each month at 7pm at the Marine Corp League in South Bend.
