Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away, and thanks to one local credit union -- hundreds in Michiana will have a big turkey sitting on their tables.
Friday, the Greater Niles Community Federal Credit Union handed out frozen turkeys to its members.
The CEO says it is the least they can do during these tough times.
Plus, it gives him a chance to talk with members face-to-face and wish them a happy holiday.
"We have 2000 turkeys and 600 hams. We have about 3,800 members. We give one to every address, give extras to food pantry and things like that," said CEO Dave Vanstrien.
This is the sixth year for the Credit Union's turkey giveaway.
