A controversial measure on Michigan's ballot this year looks to have a fighting chance.
Proposal 1 would make marijuana legal for medical use -- as long as the recipient had a doctor's prescription.
A recent poll shows support leading opposition.
According to the telephone poll of 400 likely voters, 54 percent are in favor, with 38 percent against and 8 percent undecided.
The sampling error is plus or minus 4.9 percent.
That same poll shows the sides pretty evenly split when it comes to Michigan Proposal 2, which would loosen the state's restrictions on embryonic stem cell research.
The poll shows 46 percent in favor, compared to 43 against. Eleven percent of those polled said they were undecided.
The measure has seen plenty of debate, as well as a recent ad push by both sides of the argument.
