The rain dampened the tailgating parties of some fans, while flooding closed part of White Field.
The overnight deluge at one of the campus' biggest lots turned the porta-potties into islands.
Some heavy RVs that normally park at White Field had to be moved to a paved parking lot at Notre Dame Credit Union.
Many people were sent to other parking lots then shuttled onto campus.
Officials at Notre Dame have shut down parts of the White Field parking area because of flooding.
White Field is on Juniper Road between Douglas and Pendle.
