Friends and family gathered today, to remember a South Bend security guard, killed on the job. 63-year-old Jim Muddiman died just over a week ago. Many tears were shed at a memorial ceremony on Tuesday, as friends recalled their happier memories of Muddiman.

Everyone was invited everyone to share their thoughts at South Bend's Living Stones Church this afternoon. Several of Muddiman’s co-workers also showed up to pay their respects.

Muddiman worked security part-time at IUSB and had recently started up his own security business. “He treated everybody nice, didn't deserve what happened to him, treated everybody equal,” says Edgar Moore, Muddiman’s business partner and friend.

“He's in a better place, looking down at everybody and he's able to help us and guide us in everything we do,” says friend, Melissa Delchambre.

Joshua Kati, the suspect in this case, is being held in the St. Joseph County Jail. He'll be in court on June 3rd.
