The importance of the 2008 Indiana primary is bringing people out of the woodwork to vote, including a group which normally avoids the spotlight.
Chelsea Clinton celebrated Cinco de Mayo Monday night at La Bamba discotheque in Goshen.
Carl Yoder, a member of the Amish community, was in the crowd. The Amish do not usually come out to support candidates, but the importance of the ’08 election changed their minds.
“Normally, we like to sit back and see how things play out, but this year going to the Cove and being at one of the rallies really got me going, and I'm kinda like die-hard Clinton now. So, typically we don't really come out, but this election is very important,” said Yoder.
A big issue affecting the Amish are the high gas prices. To make up for the prices at the pump, the people who drive the Amish to the stores have to charge more.
