A festival celebrating dried fruits took over the 4-H fairgrounds Saturday.
The show was all about gourds and everything you can make from them.
This year's theme is discovering the hidden treasures of gourds, treasures that include jewelry, birdhouses, and simple arts and crafts!
About 300 exhibitors and vendors came out to the fairgrounds to show off their gourd goods.
One woman came from as far as West Virginia and says the gourd shows aren't just about the plants.
“It's like a society of people that all liken to the same thing, it’s just another community which we kind of lack in our society today, you know communities getting together and doing something fun,” said Mary Meberg.
The gourd fair continues through the weekend at the Saint Joseph County 4-H fairgrounds.
Doors open Sunday at 9 a.m..
