One man's loss is another man's gain.
After the South Bend School District rejected a visit from Hillary Clinton, Mishawaka High School scooped up the opportunity.
"You're actually living history," explains Principal Dr. George Marzotto. "I think that this really drives home the point that the people really matter when it comes to voting in the United States of America."
"I'm listening for her values and what she stands for and what's most important to her," explains Allison Gleissner, a senior, who is all ready to vote.
Principal Marzotto got a call at 11:15pm Wednesday evening and agreed to the event, saying it was a great opportunity for his students to experience the lessons they learn in the classroom.
That meant a very busy Thursday.
Crews were busy building a stage, adjusting lighting, testing audio, setting up chairs and painting banners. And that's just to name a few.
"It's pretty cool to do audio for the potential president of the United States."
"Every job is important. But this one here is a very, very special event."
Senior Gianna Wright sums it up.
"She's going to leave a legacy in here."
Senator Clinton will be speaking in the Mishawaka High School gymnasium at 10:45 a.m.. Doors will open at 8:45. There will be metal detectors and bag searches so officials ask please no large bags.
