Every day, dogs and cats are rescued from abuse, neglect or injury. On Saturday, one of the organizations that helps those pets was offering bargains to people willing to help them.
Animal Aid of southwest Michigan held a fundraiser and garage sale.
Animal Aid takes in animals that come for abusive homes, those who have been abandoned, or those who have been hurt in accidents. Volunteers take them to the vet, have them fixed up, and find homes for them.
It's an expensive endeavor, especially in times like these, so on Saturday, Animal Aid held a garage sale in Niles to benefit the pets and the bargain hunters.
“We're trying to raise money, help take care of the dogs in our care, and let everybody know what Animal Aid is all about, let them know that we're out there, we're trying to help abandoned and abused dogs, we know it's rough out there for everybody right now,” said Martha Fenton with Animal Aid.
