They're packing down the powder over at Swiss Valley Ski Resort in preparation for opening day.
The slopes will open Friday, after temperatures dropped enough over the weekend for workers to make snow. They've been at it around the clock and spent Thursday moving all that snow around to form a base layer.
Weather permitting, they'll keep making that snow until they have 36 inches packed down on the ground. With the season already being shortened, workers say skiers shouldn't be too picky in deciding what days to hit the slopes.
Jamie Stafne, Marketing Director, Swiss Valley, explains how you can’t be picky this year, “Get out here now, get out here tomorrow, get out here Saturday and Sunday and don't be choosey. If it's going to be a little bit cold, put another shirt on. If it's raining just a bit, well my gosh you're not going to melt. This is going to be a season where you're going to have to take what you can get.”
