State police report Interstate 70 west of Indianapolis is open after being closed for hours after a fatal crash involving a jackknifed semi-trailer.
State police say 64-year-old Arnold Rexroad of Effingham, Ill., was standing between his disabled semi-trailer and a tow truck on eastbound I-70 near Monrovia in Hendricks County shortly after 7:30 a.m. Tuesday when another semi-trailer jackknifed and struck the disabled truck.
Police say the tow truck driver suffered leg and back injuries and the driver of the jackknifed truck was taken to an Indianapolis hospital with undisclosed injuries.
The crash spilled cargo onto the interstate and forced police to divert traffic.
