The Indiana State Fair's executive director says in a sworn deposition that country duo Sugarland twice resisted requests to delay a concert last August, despite threatening weather that ultimately caused a stage collapse that killed seven people.

Mid-America Sound Corp. released a portion of Cindy Hoye's testimony Wednesday after the Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Administration fined it for indifference to safety standards. The Greenfield, Ind.-based company built the roof and rigging used to hold the lights and sound equipment used in the concert.

Mid-America spokeswoman Myra Borschoff Cook says Hoye gave her deposition Jan. 16 as part of a lawsuit against the company.

Cook says the company thought it was important for people to see "the bigger picture."

Sugarland didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
