A traveling exhibit that examines the Harry Potter book and movie series' connections to the Renaissance and the history of science will visit Purdue University beginning this week.
"Harry Potter's World: Renaissance Science, Magic and Medicine" will be at the John W. Hicks Undergraduate Library from Wednesday through April 8.
Purdue says it's one of 12 libraries in the nation selected to participate in the tour coordinated by the American Library Association.
The exhibit will feature works from 15th- and 16th-century thinkers including alchemist Nicolas Flamel and occultist Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa von Nettersheim. The exhibit also includes illustrations from Renaissance texts of creatures and plants featured in the series, such as basilisks, dragons, merpeople and mandrakes.
