Emergency crews rescued a man who was trapped inside a grain bin at a western Indiana farm.
Firefighters arrived to find the man buried up to his neck in corn at the farm near the Clay County community of Howesville. They worked for more than two hours Tuesday night to cut holes into the bin and lower the grain level.
The Clay County Sheriff's Department says the man was taken to a Terre Haute hospital for observation. Four firefighters were treated for exhaustion and one for an ankle injury.
County Emergency Management director Bryan Husband says the hard work of rescuers avoided a tragedy.
