Investigators believe a central Indiana man died after a stray bullet fired by a target shooter went through the wall of his rural home and struck him in the chest.
Morgan County police say the neighbor was shooting a .45-caliber handgun at the time 35-year-old Jason Breisch was fatally wounded Monday.
Chief Deputy Sheriff Robert Downey says investigators found a hole in the wall where the bullet came through in the area about 15 miles southwest of Indianapolis. He said investigators have the neighbor's gun and plan to conduct ballistic checks to match it with the bullet that hit Breisch.
Police say the neighbor is cooperating with investigators.
