Authorities are working to find out how a 71-year-old man ended up dead in a sport utility vehicle found in a creek in southern Indiana.
The Owen County coroner has identified the man as Paul Tragesser of Tipton.
The 1984 Ford Bronco II was found submerged in Fish Creek in Owen County on Tuesday afternoon. Divers from the state Department of Natural Resources helped pull the SUV from the creek and recover Tragesser's body.
Police believe the vehicle may have crashed into the creek during freezing rain Tuesday. If authorities confirm Tragesser's death was due to ice-slick roads, it would be Indiana's third weather-related fatality that day.
Whitestown police say 79-year-old Lawrence Honan and 77-year-old Catherine Honan, both of Indianapolis, died when their car slid off a road and struck a tree in Boone County.
