Court hears case involving compulsive gambling
Anderson, IN The Indiana Court of Appeals held a special hearing Thursday at Anderson University on a case involving an Ohio River casino accused of allowing a compulsive gambler to play.

The Indiana Court of Appeals held a special hearing Thursday at Anderson University on a case involving an Ohio River casino accused of allowing a compulsive gambler to play.
The case involved Caesar's Riverboat Casino LLC, which sued Genevieve M. Kephart of Nashville, Tennessee, after she allegedly wrote six counter checks that were returned for insufficient funds after losing $125,000 during a trip to the casino in March 2006.
Kephart later filed a counterclaim alleging that Caesar's knew she was a compulsive gambler and that by inviting her to the riverboat and paying for her hotel, the casino unfairly enticed her to gamble.
The Court of Appeals' decision in the case could take several weeks or months.
