A two-year-old toddler is doing better after being sent to the hospital Monday evening after falling out of a second story window.
Medics responded to the 500-block of Washington St. around 5:30 p.m.
Witnesses said the parents spent the afternoon cleaning their home and decided to open a window to get fresh air. The girl then wandered near the window and fell onto the roofing before hitting the ground.
She was transported to a nearby hospital with a broken collarbone and indentation in her head.
"I wish there was someone out here to even like catch her or save her before she could hit the ground, but her parents did say we weren't paying attention. We opened the window to air it out," said Shaneka Ballard, who lives nearby.
The window did not have a window guard.
