State of Indiana seeks "Stellar Communities"

Indiana is looking for cities to sign up to become "Stellar Communities."

The program founded by Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman selects small cities and towns for a year of state-funded community projects. The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority, Office of Community and Rural Affairs, and Department of Transportation join together to support multiple projects in those communities. These could include housing, roadwork, and community revitalization projects.

Skillman calls the program a chance for communities to transform. The "Stellar Communities" program began last year with Greencastle and North Vernon.

Applications are available on the Office of Community and Rural
Affairs website. The deadline for communities to apply is Feb. 10.
