Security cameras inside a South Bend home may lead to those responsible for seriously injuring a home owner's father early Friday.

Around 6:30 a.m. Michael Clark, Jr. went to his home in the 1100 block of N. Olive St. and found his home had been ransacked and father, Michael Clark, Sr., 65, had been shot.

"I couldn't believe it. I'm just devastated. I'm hurt, but I'm giving a plea out to the citizens in South Bend to stand up and if anyone know anything, come forward but if you don't want to, I got security cameras in the house, that's fine," said Clark.

Metro Homicide has not released many details about their investigation, but said they are looking to question four people. No usable suspect description was provided.

Clark said he got home from his son's military graduation and found security cameras outside the home had been knocked down. When he got inside his house, he found his father in a pool of blood.

"Was it worth it? Was my flat screen TV worth it? You could have had everything in my house I wouldn't have cared. You can take the cars, the money, whatever, but you didn't have to do that to my father, but they got you. It'll be alright. You can sleep now, but you can't run from the long arm of the South Bend P.D. I got faith in them, so should you," said Clark, Jr.

Clark told NewsCenter 16 that he is confident the culprits will be caught because there were also cameras inside the home no one knew about.

Family members say Clark, Sr. is conscious and speaking at the hospital, but remains in critical condition. They said he described the suspects as three men and one woman in their late teens or early 20's.

A second home invasion occurred between 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. in the 13-hundred block of Browne Lane.

A pregnant woman was home at the time and told police an armed man entered the home through an unlocked door and hit her in the head with a gun.

The suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police said they do not believe this was a random attack. They also do not believe the two home invasions are related.

No suspect description was released.
