A man was arrested on I-65 in Merrillville Sunday after he was found marching down the road carrying a samurai sword.

He has been identified as 43-year-old Bryon Womack of Cicero, Illinois.

Indiana State Police troopers found the man around 2:30 in the afternoon.

Womack had abandoned his car in the middle of the road, was shirtless, and marching along the shoulder of the interstate, moving the sword up and down in time with his marching.

Womack swung the sword at police. Then, he attempted to get into a nearby SUV and had to be arrested at gunpoint.

He did say he was "Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs" instead of giving his name.

Womack faces preliminary charges of attempted carjacking and resisting law enforcement.
