Hundreds of people contributed to Super Bowl 46’s halftime show. From construction crews working on the big stage to extras used during the extravagant performance, the entertaining production was certainly a group effort.
While people from all over took part in the major performance, there were some from Michiana who were also big contributors.
Penn High School alumni Tyler Graham and Gage Davis participated in Madonna’s half time show.
"I was one of the throne guys. I was one of the 14 who got to actually carry [Madonna] out there," says Graham.
"I was in the basic army. I was on the outside facing the crowd. To see all the lights, it was just incredible,” explains Davis.
Two men from Elkhart County found out on game day that they were not just going to be ushers in the back, they were going to be out on the field.
Ryan Shuff, of Middlebury, says his super bowl job, “Is probably one of the coolest jobs there is."
Tim Nusbaum, of Elkhart, describes his thoughts before taking part in the big show. "It's unbelievable. I can't even believe what this is going to be like. I'm just so excited.”
However, not everyone was working. Goshen teacher Shelly Wilfong, who won tickets to the game through a twitter contest from Jim Irsay, just got to kick back and enjoy the game.
"It’s an amazing experience. I never thought this would have happened and so it just doesn't even seem real right now,” explains Wilfong.
No matter what their job was on game day, these Michaiana locals certainly have an experience they will never forget.
