Muffet's Trio named All Big East; Peters repeats as Defensive Player of Year
For the 2nd year in a row, Notre Dame's trio of Skylar Diggins, Natalie Novosel and Dev Peters were all named to the 11 player All Big East 1st Team, the conference announced on Thursday. Peters also repeats as the conference's Defensive Player of the Year.

For the 2nd year in a row, Notre Dame's trio of Skylar Diggins, Natalie Novosel and Dev Peters were all named to the 11 player All Big East 1st Team, the conference announced on Thursday.
Notre Dame is the only school with three 1st team selections.
Diggins was one of two unanimous selections along with Anna Martin of DePaul. The Big East Player of hte Year and Coach of the Year will be announced on Friday.
Peters also repeats as the conference's Defensive Player of the Year.
She is averaging a team-high 9.5 rebounds per game to go along with 52 blocks this season. She ranks second in the conference in rebounding and fourth in blocked shots (1.7 bpg). She has grabbed 62 steals and is averaging 12.2 points per game. Peters has helped lead a defense that ranks seventh in the nation, allowing 51.6 points per game. Notre Dame also has the ninth-highest rebound margin (+10.0).
Notre Dame captured the Big East regular season championship for the 1st team in school history on Monday with a win at UConn. They finished the regular season ranked 3rd in the country and with a 28-2 overall record.
They open up play in the Big East Tournament Sunday at 2pm in the quarterfinals against either DePaul, South Florida or Pitt.
