A former Warsaw police officer arrested last December on child molestation charges has been sentenced.
Timothy Whitright pleaded guilty to sexual battery earlier this month as part of a plea agreement.
At Wednesday's hearing, a judge sentenced him to one year in prison followed by six months of probation.
Whitright was accused of making sexual advances and touching a girl who was under 14 years old. The alleged incident happened back in November of 2010.
Court documents showed that he admitted to making the advances, but denied inappropriately touching her.
Whitright resigned from the force last November over separate allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old girl.
