Investigators announced that the fire that destroyed the popular Simonton Lake bar, "My Dad's Place," was an act of arson. Police are still searching for the person or persons responsible.

Firefighters battled a large blaze at "My Dad's Place" on State Road 19, in northern Elkhart County.

The blaze broke out around 5 a.m. Saturday after the bar had closed for the night. Crews from Osolo, Cleveland and Bristol Township Fire Departments attacked the smoke and flames for more than two hours before gaining control.

Nobody was hurt, however crews say the popular watering hole is a total loss. The owner says 17 people worked there and there's concern all staffers will all be out of jobs.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
