Indiana State Excise Police officers arrested 67 people on 77 charges while working in West Lafayette this weekend.

On Friday and Saturday nights, excise officers arrested 38 minors for illegal possession or consumption of alcohol.

Two minors had to be treated medically because of their levels of intoxication.

Early Sunday morning, a 19-year-old Ft. Wayne girl was taken to Central Hospital by Purdue Fire after excise officers found her bent over and vomiting in front of a dorm on Tower Rd. The teenage girl had a .22% BAC and was unable to stand without assistance. At one point she told officers she was at the Sigma Chi fraternity, where she said she had been drinking alcohol. Instead, she was in front of a dormitory. Concerned for her safety, officers contacted Purdue Fire, which transported her to the hospital for treatment.

In a separate Sunday morning incident, a 20-year-old man from Columbus, Ind., was also taken to Central Hospital by Purdue Fire, unable to stand without assistance from officers. His speech was slurred and he could not form coherent sentences. At one point he told officers that Mitt Romney was president. The man, who said he was an EMT in Columbus, will face a charge of illegal consumption of alcohol.

Excise officers arrested 12 people for providing alcohol to minors. Two minors were also charged with possession of false identification. Officers also cited 25 people for a variety of other offenses and issued 15 warning tickets for a variety of alcohol offenses and traffic violations.
