Driver flown to hospital after accident outside of Middlebury

The Elkhart County Sheriff's Department is looking into a serious accident along County Road 35, just outside of Middlebury. It happened just after 7 a.m.

According to a police report the driver, Michael Todd, 28, was flown to a South Bend hospital with serious pelvic pain.

He was driving south on County Road 35, north of Claire Lane. For unknown reasons, he veered off of Couty Road 35 and hit a utility pole.

He is being treated for pelvic and chest pains. No one else was injured. Police say no citations were issued.
