Power was knocked out to thousands of people all over Michiana late Thursday and into early Friday.
Winds knocked down trees and downed power lines.
As of 6 a.m. Saturday, about 8000 I&M customers in southwest Michigan and about 1400 in northwest Indiana were still without power. Customers who lost power in the Fort Wayne and Muncie regions Friday have been restored
I&M has the following estimated times of restoration:
LaPorte and St. Joseph County (IN) areas: 8 p.m. Saturday
Berrien County area: 6 p.m. Sunday
Buchanan and New Buffalo areas: 12 p.m. Sunday
I&M is warning people to stay away from downed power lines and to report anything they see to I&M.
