It looks like a Colorado based real estate counselor will be hired to find a buyer for the Chase Tower in South Bend.
Sources say the listing price will be $8.3 million, as per the terms of an agreement reached late Tuesday.
Because of the agreement, a court hearing on the matter scheduled for today was cancelled.
The original motion before the court sought a listing price of $6.5 million.
It also appears that two parties will actually work to sell the building.
HREC Real Estate Counselors, based in Colorado, as hired by Huntington National Bank and a court appointed receiver for the property, as well as the current title holder to the building—Dillingham Hill, LLC, which is the subject of the foreclosure proceedings.
According to court documents, the listing contract with HREC runs through mid-May.
One Chase tenant today told News Center 16, “We hope this agreement will facilitate a quick sale of the property as there is a small number of “major” office tenants (those having at least 1,500 square feet or more) that are finding it more difficult to stay and do business in the building and within the City of South Bend.”
Brent Sheppard added, “We are in hopes that this building does become not yet another vacant property managed by the city.”
