Notre Dame didn't let an early nine-point deficit cause them pause as the Irish rallied to win their 5th straight game 68-56 at Madison Square Garden in the second round of the Big East Tourney.
All American Luke Harangody scored 20 points and had 10 rebounds in just 24 minutes as he came off the bench to spark the Irish. Seton Hall, which had won 109-106 over Providence, never got the offense going as the Irish defensive effort was outstanding. Jeremy Hazell, who torched ND on Februrary 11th for 35, had only 15 and scored only once from outside the arch. The Hall hit only two three-point shots, 11 per cent.
Tory Jackson started the second half scoring the first seven points and took over the tempo of the game. The senior captain had 14 points, all in the second half. The Irish shot 58 per cent as a team from the field. He tied the school record for most games played in a career at 133.
Notre Dame is now 23-10 as the three seniors tie the record of the class of '81 for most wins in an ND uniform.
It's now Pitt and Notre Dame at 7pm on Thursday.
