School City of Mishawaka administrators have a lot of work ahead of them as they try to shave $4.7 million from the budget over the next two years. That's why they're looking for your help.
Board members say the drastic cuts come because of the economic crisis and a big reduction in state funding. From major cuts like losing staff members or freezing salaries to small ones like using less paper, school officials say they know this won't be easy.
A community forum is being held Tuesday night at 6:30 at Hums Elementary School. They are asking for public input.
If you can't make it to the meeting, you can email them your thoughts to budget@mishawaka.k12.in.us.
The board won't vote on a final plan until March 23rd. To learn more about the budget reductions, click on the Big Red Bar.
