An event that brings big money and big boats to Michiana will be back in August.
The LaPorte County Convention and Visitors Bureau renewed its contract with Super Boat International.
That means the Second Annual Great Lakes Grand Prix Offshore Powerboat Race will happen next August in Michigan City.
CVB officials say they even plan to extend the event an extra day. This year, the Great Lakes Grand Prix brought around 80,000 people to the area.
It also injected more than $5 million into the local economy.
