NewsCenter 16’s Erin Logan visited with a Mishawaka mother who wants to protect children from what happened to her son one year ago.
You may remember Izaya’s Mom, Nichole Baiz sharing the story of how her little boy had ADHD and needed to get out and play every day. She never thought a day of playing would result in his death.
Now, Baiz doesn’t want any parent to go through what she went through. With the help of her attorney Baiz filed a lawsuit so this doesn’t happen again to another child.
She wants some type of fencing around the transformer boxes.
Baiz and her Attorney Gary Griner have filed a lawsuit against the City of Mishawaka, Gene B. Glick Management Co., and Carriage House Apartments of Mishawaka for failing to keep the property safe.
Baiz would not speak on camera because she is still dealing with the grief of loosing her son. She still remembers her son fondly just as she did when she spoke to NewsCenter 16 not long after his death.
