Results from southwest Michigan races and proposals
Results from the local votes in Berrien, Cass and St. Joseph counties in southwest Michigan.

Here's a look at the results from Tuesday's votes in Michigan:
Berrien County
- In Benton Harbor, the Commissioners-at-Large race goes to Marcus Muhammad and Duane Seats. In the Third Ward Commissioner race incumbent Juanita Henry wins a close race over Steven McCoy by four votes, 89-85. It was also a close race in the Fourth Ward Commissioner race with Dennis Knowles just edging out incumbent Rahim Abdullah by three votes, 84-81.
- In Bridgman, four city council seats were up for re-election. Robert Liskey, Ron Birmingham, Jim Catania and Hannah Anderson were all re-elected. Also, the Bridgman Public School bond passed by a 814-661 vote.
- In Coloma, Martha Darling keeps the Clerk position. Cathy Megna keeps her position as City Treasurer. Marsha Hammond, Linda Freitag and Harold Bragg get re-elected as commissioners. Michael Muenchow was elected to a partial term as a City Comissioner.
- In Niles, Patricia Gallagher is elected to the First Ward Council Member, Robert Durm gets the Second Ward Council Member spot. Third Ward City Council Member goes to William Weimer Sr. and William Skalla wins the Fourth Ward Council Member spot.
- In St. Joesph, Mary Goff, Robert Judd and Fran Chickering got re-elected as City Comissioners.
- In Watervliet, the race for Commissioner in the City was a close one. Winning the three seats are Melanie Marvin, Pamela Loyd and Richard Wicks being separated from first to third by a range of 23 votes. Kevin Beckman won a two year term as Commissioner. Police proposal renewal passed with 95 -22. Fire proposal renewal also passed 97-22.
- In Galien Township, the Fire and Ambulance Proposition renewal passed by a 36-4 vote. The Road Millage also passed by a 35-6 vote.
Cass County
- In Dowagiac, incumbent Mayor Donald Lyons keeps his seat over opponent Scott Wreggitt by a 285-156 vote. Robin Coffey also keeps her seat as Treasurer. Lori Hunt wins a seat as Councilman Ward One, Bob Schuur wins Councilman Ward Two and Leon Laylin wins Councilman Ward Three.
- In Newberg Township, the fire/EMS proposal passed with 72% in favor and 27% opposing. The vote was to increase millage (to the original 1.0 mills) for the purpose of operating and maintaining fire protection, and first responder and ambulance services.
St. Joseph County
- In Constantine, the school district's proposal was voted down with 27% in favor and 72% opposed. The proposal would have enabled the school district to levy the statutory rate of 18 mills on all property, except principal residence and other property exempted by law, required by the school district to receive its revenue per pupil foundation allowance.
