Two people are dead after a police chase in Starke County last night.
According to Indiana State police the Starke County Sheriff's department was involved in a high-speed pursuit of a Ford Mustang shortly after 10:30 Friday night when the car was driving without headlights on. The chase then started leading up to speeds of nearly 100 m.p.h.
The driver of the Mustang, 23-year-old Dale Hite of Warsaw, lost control of the vehicle on a wet road and crashed head-on into a tree near the intersection of 600 North and 1100 West. Hite was transfered to the hospital.
Two passengers riding in the car were pronounced dead at the scene. 30-year-old Amber McMillen of Warsaw and 25-year-old Nicolas White of Warsaw.
