It's the kind of opportunity few people ever get.
Cameron Beaver, of Edwardsburg, hasn't been able to see for his entire life. On Friday night, though, that didn't stop him from standing in front of a packed audience at the Cove and throwing out the first pitch.
It's something Cameron's always wanted to do.
"I'm a real baseball fan," says Cameron.
"Just the smile he puts on everyone's lives around here, it's just amazing, it's amazing story to all of us," says T.J Hose, pitcher for the Silver Hawks.
"I can't see at all, not even a little bit," says Cameron.
At 7 weeks old, Cameron was diagnosed with eye cancer. Through all the hardships, he was able to throw the ball on Friday night.
"Ya! I did it," Cameron shouted after the ball left his hand. The crowd cheered him on.
For Silver Hawks players it's a dose of perspective.
For the 9-year-old who can't see--it's a priceless memory.
"Makes me feel pretty special, like I'm a part of a team, like I'm a part of the Silver Hawks, like I'm a part of everything," says Cameron.
Cameron will also be walking in the Edwardsburg Relay for Life on July 11th.
