Many are familiar with retail holidays such as Black Friday for "brick and mortar" stores and than Cyber Monday for online stores. But three years ago, American Express created another retail holiday called Small Business Saturday.
This day is focused on getting exposure for "mom and pop" stores that can't compete with large retailers. It also encourages people to buy locally.
Today the South Bend Farmer's Market celebrated this retail holiday. Newscenter 16's Kate Chappell spent the day talking with small business owners at the market.
