If you are looking for some family fun this week the Laporte County Fair could be up your alley.
The fair is in full swing in Laporte!
Several folks spent the day strolling along the midway, taking in the delicious sights and smells.
Along with your typical fair fun a demolition derby and rockin’ musical acts make the event stand-out.
You can also take a trip back in time to the 1840's.
The fair has something called “Pioneer Land”, complete with log cabins, a blacksmith shop, general store and even an outdoor kitchen.
About 130 people volunteer their time to make pioneer land come to life during the fair.
Dick Reel works with the fair and says, "It’s kind of a simple life during the fair for us too! enjoyable listening to people's stories and telling people how it was then and don't let anybody tell you that was the good old days because it wasn't, it was a lot of hard work!"
The Laporte County Fair runs through Saturday.
