South Bend Death Investigations

We have new information tonight about several death investigations going on in South Bend.

The first case involves a woman who was found in the St. Joseph River back in May.

Forty seven-year old Brenda Walker's cause of death was ruled as probable drowning with alcohol intoxication.

Toxicology tests show Walker's blood alcohol level was .288 at the time of her death.

Meantime police are still waiting on the toxicology results of a woman found in the St. Joseph River just over a week ago.

Fifty six year-old Sandra Dobson’s body was found on June 29th.

Initial autopsy results are consistent with drowning and reveal no evidence of foul play.

Police discovered no evidence of foul play in the death of 34-year-old
Lanita Bonds-Newman.

Newman's body was found last month in an alley off of Medora Street in South Bend.

Tests show the toxic effects of cocaine killed Newman.

Police say it appears that Newman’s body was dumped in the alley.
