Fourth of July Festivities

Kids laughing, bands playing and food on the grill!

Despite the gloomy start, the usual forth of July sights could be seen all around Michiana.

In Mishawaka, the Christian Fellowship Church welcomed all to Battelle Park to enjoy free food and live music.

America’s pastime attracted hundreds of people to Newton Park in Lakeville for the fourth annual freedom fest.

Organizers say the fourth is a good way to show off the park which is home to two baseball diamonds where games are played each week in the summer.

In some parts of Indiana the fourth activities were a bit of the usual mixed with something different.

The people of Topeka have a whole list of ways to celebrate their independence including a softball tournament, a parade and a buggy race.

Whether they are racing buggies, watching a parade or enjoying the day off, people waved their flags high in honor of the days meaning.
