An update from Michigan reveals that the city of Buchanan has temporarily pulled their permit to build a dam in McCoy Creek.
Buchanan's city manager has said a weir would allow more water to flow down McCoy creek and into Peers mills, one of Buchanan’s most historic locations.
However, some with friends of McCoy Creek are concerned that changing the water's flow could ruin the natural habitat especially the trout and salmon in the creek.
Now it is back to square one for the project.
